Airworthiness Office Engineer (m/f)

We are hiring airworthiness specialists for our Design Organisation located in Wessling, Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany

(ex. Fairchild-Dornierplant).


  • Responsible for the complete certification process for the assigned projects (design changes or repairs)

  • Prepare Certification data packages liaising with Configuration Management to cascade the approved Engineering Change Requests in the certification process

  • Prepare requirements based, deliverables oriented Certification Programs, review them with the responsible CVEs, EASA and Aviation Authorities and release them

  • Lead the Type Investigation process for the assigned project, including internal and external coordination and program management of the deliverables

  • Perform design changes, concessions and repairs classification

  • Release Compliance Documents

  • Establish Compliance Checklist

  • Participate in the Continued Airworthiness process (Screening Group, Corrective Action Board, Occurrence Reporting, AD drafting, etc…)

  • Cooperate in the drafting of Technical Instructions related to AD

  • Review and release aircraft Manuals and Technical Instructions

  • Advise all departments of the Design Organisation in all questions regarding airworthiness, operational suitability and environmental protection requirements and certification process.

  • Providing guideline in interpreting certification specifications requirements and related AMC and GM material


  • Master degree in aeronautical engineering, alternatively a similar degree or an adequate education /experience in the aeronautical industry

  • Working experience in the aeronautical industry in the Airworthiness Office of an aircraft manufacturer Design Organisation (min. 5 years)

  • Good knowledge of the German language

  • Good knowledge of the English language

  • Structured, independent and solution oriented way of working (can plan and obtain deliverables for certification)

  • International mind-set, experienced in liaison with third parties

  • Good communication skills and good Team worker, having an analytical and process oriented mind-set

  • Good knowledge of all MS-Office software

  • Flexible worker, prepared to support and act in other functions across the organisation

  • Good knowledge of EASA Part 21

  • Knowledge of FAR/CS-23 Commuter class regulations

  • Experience with validation activities with FAA and CAAC is a plus

  • Experience with composite manufacturing (glass fiber, wet laminate) is a plus

  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM Software (version 10.x) will be an advantage
